Ben O’Neill is a Grammy nominated artist, singer/songwriter and guitarist who has toured the world with John Legend, Jill Scott, Common, Christina Aguilera and many others. Having appeared in 6 continents, 35 countries and many TV performances, including the Tonight Show, The Voice, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ellen and many others; Ben has entertained millions of music lovers.
Weaving together elements of the great American songwriters, jazz and gospel harmony, and a taste for the highly melodic, Ben’s creative output is a wide-ranging tapestry. At times pensive and transparent (Light Vol 1), lushly orchestrated (Light Vol 2), or searing and cacophonous (Ghosts and Green Shoots), one thing that remains consistent is the sincerity and soulfulness with which the music is presented. The work is enriched by numerous collaborations including with visual artists (Light Vol 1, Ungoverned Transformation), electronic producer RVLVR and Ben’s soul jazz organ trio of 20 years, The Mini Q’s.
Named the 2023-2024 Artist in Residence at the Community College of Philadelphia, Ben continues to write, record and collaborate in a variety of genres as well as pursue his life-long interest in education. After more than a decade of teaching at his alma mater, The University of the Arts, Ben has joined the faculty at The Community College of Philadelphia.
