Arthur Thomas and the Funkitorium
Philly’s Arthur Thomas and the Funkitorium were funking up stages across the city before the pandemic hit in 2020. Welcome to Funktar is the culmination of studio sessions in early 2020 as well as throughout the subsequent quarantine, following up on the success of singles “How You Like Me Now” and “Fried Chicken”.
Led by lead vocalist and frontman Arthur Thomas, the Funkitorium weaves old school funk with modern day hip-hop for a fresh sound unlike any other band on the planet. The band won PHL Live’s Summer Stage 2019 with their highly energetic live shows, which Welcome to Funktar captures: raw and dynamic performances. Arthur Thomas and the Funkitorium are surely one of Philly’s most exciting up-and-coming bands, and Welcome to Funktar is only the beginning.
