Apple Pie Bible
Tubey Frank
Following up on the Some Beat Revival and Cheeseburger Jesus singles, Philadelphia’s Tubey Frank brings us his long form Spring Garden Records debut with the brilliant Apple Pie Bible. Recorded at the label’s studio in Philly, Apple Pie Bible is a musically eclectic journey into the mind of Tubey Frank’s lead singer and songwriter, Josh Kirwin.
The album showcases the use of layers of instrumentation in songs like Northern Hospitality layering acoustic guitars, auxiliary percussion, synthesizers, acoustic piano and more in perfect harmony. The before mentioned Cheeseburger Jesus is a country romp with a chorus of crowd vocals, acoustic guitar and pedal steel. Album closer, Waiting for the Chair thickens up layers of distorted electric guitars with saxophone, ukulele, acoustic piano and hard pounding toms.
Tubey Frank has positioned himself as one of Philly’s strongest songwriters and performers in recent years and Apple Pie Bible is just the next step in the artists’ journey.
