Ben O’Neill’s "Gemini" is a vibrant fusion of spontaneous creativity and meticulous craft. Born from dynamic studio sessions and shaped through focused post-production, the album captures the spirit of exploration at every stage. Joined by Irvin Washington (J. Cole) on keyboards and Mikel Patrick Avery (Exploding Star Orchestra, Kurt Vile) on drums, O’Neill transformed raw improvisations into fully formed compositions. With Avery’s kinetic percussion and Washington’s deep, driving key bass laying the groundwork, O’Neill’s guitar soars—navigating texture, tone, and intuition in equal measure. 

"Gemini" is the culmination of O’Neill’s 2023-2024 artist residency with Spring Garden Records. O’Neill effortlessly bridges the grit of rock with the soul-soaked textures of the Sound of Philadelphia. Tracks like "95" lean into driving guitar riffs and bold, arena-ready energy, while others, including "Just Keep Breakin’ My Heart" are steeped in the lush harmonies, rhythmic sophistication, and emotional depth that define the city’s musical legacy. Rather than choosing one lane, O’Neill embraces duality—delivering a sound that’s as comfortable in a sweaty rock club as it is echoing the lineage of Philly soul, jazz, and R&B. The result is a body of work that feels both grounded and unbound, rooted in tradition yet pushing into new territory.
