Calvin Thomas is a songwriter from Pennsylvania, and former frontman of Philadelphia punk rock outfit The Sex Monkeys. Calvin mixes a satirical voice with garage rock styling, light-heartedly exploring themes of alienation, decay, loss of identity, and other psychological elements. With roots in 60's rock and pop, Calvin Thomas pens forward-looking time capsules, sneaking subliminal messages through catchy hooks.
Calvin Thomas grew up in the hick town of Honesdale, PA, where he used to catch the old coal train by the soda fountain and ride it all the way to bright and booming Scranton. The lights and bustle of beautiful Scranton, Pennsylvania served as a backdrop Americana for Calvin's budding musical interests, which became a great and giant scream upon moving to Philadelphia, PA. Calvin thanks his lucky stars he was born in Pennsylvania, and not Nebraska, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, or anywhere else the molasses grasp of nowhere America could've kept him down.
