"Becoming American: Philadephia's Story" is a feature length documentary that explores the founding of the United States through the lens of Philadelphia, America’s first capital. From indigenous people and enslaved Africans to lawmakers and artisans, the film reveals how diverse communities shaped a new nation. Though rooted in Philadelphia, this is a shared American story whose debates, ideals, and consequences still resonate today.

Spring Garden Records' 2024-2025 Artist-in-Residence, Christopher Michael Stevens, composed the score for this incredible documentary, produced by Bear House Media, narrated by Philadelphia's own Oliver St. Clair Franklin and soon to be premiered on PBS in the United States.
